Dana Wakefield

Dana Michelle Wakefild, age 49 passed away March 7, 2026 at Horizon Medical Center after a brief illness.

Dana was born at Fort Stewart, Georgia, to Jackie Ballard and the late Michael Wakefield. She had a deep love for serving others and spent much of her career in the medical field, first working in home health before transitioning into the recovery community. Caring for people came naturally to Dana, and she was always ready to offer support, compassion, and the wisdom she had gained through her own life experiences.

Dana was a hard worker who took great pride in maintaining her sobriety and continuing her personal recovery journey. She especially loved her work at Freeman Recovery in Dickson, Tennessee. After completing the program there herself, she later returned as a dedicated employee, using her experience and heart for others to help guide those walking the same path.

She is survived by her daughter, Paige Pierce (Chad Bowers); mother, Jacqueline “Jackie” Bridges; grandchildren, Roman and Finley;  brothers, Chad Wakefield, Adrian Bridges; sister, Rena Johnson, a host of friends and colleagues at Freeman Recovery.
