David Lawrence Spicer, age 51, of Charlotte, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., with Trent Batey officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

David was a hardworking, devoted husband and father whose main priority was always providing for his family. He and his wife, Natasha (“Tasha”), spent 26 wonderful years together. They loved riding their motorcycle along the backroads of Tennessee and recently took up hiking to enjoy more uninterrupted time with one another.

His daughter, Lennon, was his pride and joy. David loved watching her play and coach softball. Over the years, he spent countless hours catching her pitches, always making sure she was ready to take the mound. At home, he could usually be found relaxing with his best bud, his trusted Basset Hound, Copper.

For many years, David worked at Curvey Road Sawmill in Charlotte. He primarily drove a delivery truck, but whenever he wasn’t on a run, he was always stepping in to handle whatever needed to be done around the yard. He viewed the sawmill crew as his second family and gave them the same loyalty he gave his own.

Serving as pallbearers are his cousins, Brian and Nathaniel Sesler, alongside his work family from the sawmill: Stacey Batey, Josh Own, Sam Batey, Zach Bone, Dennis Cook, and Trent Batey.

David is survived by his wife, Natasha Spicer; his daughter, Lennon Bone (Zach) of Charlotte; his aunt, Tammy Lindsey of Charlotte; his cousins, Brian Sesler (Molly) of Charlotte and Nathaniel Sesler (Liz) of Pleasant View; and his dog, Copper.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cathey Lawrence Spicer; his grandfather, Spurgeon Lawrence; and his grandmother, Jesse Mae Hampton.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to Randall’s Rebellion in David’s honor.
