Jannis Isabelle “Jann” Vanderlinden, age 79, of Dickson, TN died April 26, 2026, at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
She was born in Duluth Minnesota and was the daughter of the late James Quirck and Ruth Elizabeth Johnsen Ross. She is the wife of Robert Milo “Bob” Vanderlinden, and they have been married for 60 years.
First and foremost, she was a child of God and was a faithful and beautiful Christian lady. Next on her list was her family who she loved and adored. She loved nothing more than being a Nanna and a Granna, as she took the pleasure of spoiling all of her grands and greats. It was said by family that “when you needed to land hard, she was the non-judgmental soft that came after the landing.” She could give the best and kindest and most meaningful advice when needed.
Jann had a very tasteful artsy side to her and really enjoyed her life as an event planner. She planned many weddings, birthdays and very special events. She loved flowers and all the beauty that God has been so gracious to give to her. She was a member of the Family and Community Education Club through the University of Tennessee and was an auxiliary member of Gideons International. She was a faithful member of the Bethel Church in Dickson.
Jann is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Milo “Bob” Vanderlinden of Dickson, TN, her three children, Jeffery Robert “Jeff” Vanderlinden of Marion IA, Kari Ann Lynch (Terry Brunett) of Dickson, TN and Jason Mathew Ross (Yael),her bonus daughter, Piper Lorie Wright (Mark) her brother, James Ross of Longmont, CO and her sister, Kim Eidel (Dean) of Beechgrove, TN, her 11 grandchildren, Abigail Janna Hooper (Nicholas), Tiffany Ann Lynch, Amber Lynn Davis (Jared), Haillie Marie Vanderlinden (Alex Yanecek), Hannah Danielle Vanderlinden, Harrison Jeffery Vanderlinden, Teja Marie Ross (Hunter), Trevor Wayne Lynch (Erin), Alyssa Kari Lynch, Brenna Danae Ross, Hope Cedelle Vanderlinden, her 7 great grandchildren, Brayden Ross Richardson, Paislynn Belle Davis, Lucas Wayne Richardson, Samuel Richard Davis, McKinnley Marie Perkins, Nora Harper Yanecek and Arabella Rose Hooper. Several nieces and nephews.

My deepest sympathy to you, Bob, Jeff, Kari, Jason, Kim, James and familes. Jann was such a sweetheart of a good friend all of these years, and I’m going to miss her and will always remember her kindness and smile and her cute chuckle when we’d get together. Sending love and hugs,
Julie, in IA.
Jann was kind, loving, gentle, and wise. Her gift of hospitality was seen by all, and I was blessed to be counted as one of her friends.
How truly sorry I am. What a wonderful person she was! We from the class of ’65 have lost a special classmate.
Sending my deepest condolences and prayers to the family
Jann has always been a sweet loving sister in Christ. She served as Auxiliary Vice President in the Dickson County Camp and was a great encourager to all who walked beside her in this ministry. Her love of the Lord and her family was evident in all she did. Jann was a beautiful friend and will be greatly missed. Her sweet smile and sense of humor made ever so much fun. Love you Jann!
Dick and I were very sad to hear of your loss Bob! You two made a beautiful couple. Will never forget our times together at Quonset Point, R.I. In the Navy. Wish we didn’t live so far away so we could attend her funeral. Our prayers are with you and your family.
We are so sorry for your loss. Jann was such a kind and lovely person. We always enjoyed seeing her at Gideon and Auxiliary events.
