Jeffery Lynn Appleton – known by some as “Lightning” – age 65 of Pegram TN, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at his home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of service. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Scott Cemetery in Kingston Springs.
Jeff was born on March 13, 1961, to John Hensley and JoAnn (Moss) Appleton. He graduated in 1980 from Cheatham County Central High School. He had a long career in the printing industry until he retired to become a professional PawPaw to his grandchildren. Jeff was a proud father who enjoyed racing go-carts, frog giggin, spending time at the lake, water-skiing, crappie fishing, hunting, playing pool and darts in his garage, and raising his grandkids.
Jeff was proceeded in death by his father, John Hensley Appleton and brother, Johnny Wade Appleton, Sr.
Jeff was survived by his wife of 46 years Catherine Suzanne Lampley Appleton; his mother JoAnn Appleton; his two daughters Carrie Lynn Appleton Paschall (Nick), Catherine Jo Olson (Grant); four grandchildren Zachery ‘Drake’ Hamilton, Grant Lee Olson Jr., Bristol Lynn Paschall, and George Hensley Olson; four nieces and nephews, Wade Appleton, Christina Appleton, Rebecca Appleton, and Carson Lampley.
