John Thomas Wadkins, age 82 of Dickson, passed away on August 16, 2026, at Centennial Medical Center of Nashville. A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Charlotte, TN.
Mr. Wadkins was born on December 6, 1943, in Springfield, Missouri to the late Jarod “Jack” Wadkins and the late Ellise Handay Wadkins. He served as a police officer for the City of Fairview for many years.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife: Cynthia Lou Kershaw Wadkins; and his brothers: Dick Wadkins, Gene Wadkins, and William Wadkins.
Survivors include his children: Billy Wadkins (Veronica) of Dickson and Barbara Goetz of Charlotte; and five grandchildren.
