Mrs. Maggie Jewell Averitt Deason, age 78, of Vanleer, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Jewell Averitt Deason was held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Averitt Cemetery in Vanleer. A native of Houston County, Maggie was the daughter of the late Harl and Aggie Tanner Allsbrooks. She was first married to Clayton Averitt who preceded her in death in 1985. She later married Albert LeeRoy Deason who died in 2006. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked as a machine operator for the former Henry I. Siegel Manufacturing Co. and for the former Red Kap Industries. After the factories closed, she worked as a CNA for NHC Healthcare Center. She was a member of Stoney Point Free Will Baptist Church in Vanleer. Two brothers, Manuel Allsbrooks and J. Don Allsbrooks preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Mike Averitt (Camille), Vanleer; two daughters, Patsy Daniel (Wendell), Vanleer, and Renae Vaughn (Tim), Joelton, TN; three brothers, Jimmy Allsbrooks, Dickson, Bobby Allsbrooks (June), Sevierville, TN, and ‘Bub’ Allsbrooks (Shirley), Vanleer; three sisters, Fraline Fullington (David), Dickson, Cindy Potts (Kenneth), Bon Aqua, TN, and Pauline Huff (Rev. Robert), Dickson; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
