Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Pastor Dan Duke will officiate. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of service time. Burial will follow in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. For those desiring, memorials may be made to assist with final expenses.
Melissa Ann Daugherty, age 31, of Dickson, TN, passed away on September 13, 2026 at Centennial Medical Center.
Melissa was born to the late Esther Hogan and Doug Daugerty, in Dickson, TN. Melissa was engaged to Tien Russell. Melissa was a Correctional Officer at Riverbend Maximum Security Institute.
Melissa was a great mother to her three babies. They were the light of her life, and she loved them more than anything. Her family meant the world to her, and she always worked hard to take care of the people she loved.
Melissa loved to draw and had a real passion for art. She enjoyed being creative and putting her thoughts and feelings into her drawings. It was something that made her happy and was a big part of who she was.
She was a hardworking woman who worked for the Tennessee Department of Corrections to provide for her family. She took pride in working hard and doing what she could to give her children a good life.
Melissa loved her family dearly. Her children were her whole world, and she wanted the best for them. She will be missed by her family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved her.
She is survived by children, Brantley, Terrie, and Angelique; Fiancé, Tien Russell; father, Doug Daugherty (Pam); sisters, Daisy Tinsley (Jason), Rebecca Daugherty; stepbrother, Caleb Shelton; niece, Charity Daugherty; and special friends, Marina, Bianca and Destiny.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Hogan; grandmother, Ester Boughton; grandparents, Dewey Daugherty Jr., and Margaret Daugherty.
