Michael Douglass Anderson, age 73, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026. His family mourns the loss of a loving husband, father, and proud grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry; his son, Matthew (Brittany); his grandson, Victor; and his sister, Teresa Chaney (Bob).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglass and Louise Anderson, and his sister, Trudy Anderson.

Mike was a talented musician, an avid golfer, and a great storyteller. He loved his hometown of Charlotte, especially the family farm that was passed down through multiple generations.

He cherished the many friendships he made through his work and hobbies.

A memorial celebration will be held at a later date.

A long cherished grad friend..We started playing music together at 15 and were both original members of the ‘Cream Cheese Funeral’ band..we walked down the hill from football practice a many a evening where we congregated at Bernadine’s Grocery playing pinball machines and eating bologna and cheese sandwiches..your smile lit up the room, a talented musician..you will be missed my dear friend

  5. I began playing music with Mike in high school, and later in the 80s played along side him in Southwind. Even though we lost touch after that I remember his gentle spirit, his wit, his talent, and his abiding friendship. I mourn this loss with his family and many friends. He is now at rest. ❤️
