A celebration of life will be conducted on Sunday afternoon, September 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Brent’s service will be very casual, open mic gathering, limiting speakers to 2 minutes each. Come prepared to tell a completely uncensored Brent Lee story. He will be buried with his family at Dickson County Memorial Gardens privately at a later date. Visitation will be Saturday evening September 5, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Michael Brent Lee, longtime TSSAA baseball umpire and sporting official and City of Dickson employee, of Dickson, TN, died suddenly August 31, 2026. He was 59 years of age. He was also known to many as Crash, Buckwild, and Uncle B.
Brent was born in Dickson County to the late Darryl Wayne and Nancy Sensing Lee. He might not have looked like it or acted like it, BUT Brent was a momma’s boy, always has been and always would be. Brent always tried to act tough and mean sometimes and not going to take anything off anyone, BUT he did have a big giving heart. He had a great fondness for his nephews and was a special uncle to them. Brent came from two old line Dickson County families; he was the grandson of the late Herman and Birdie Edwards Lee and Victor Thomas and Dorris Owen Sensing. He was also preceded in death by his uncle Louis Sensing.
Brent always worked either on the farm or the City of Dickson or professional umpiring. One could never say he was lazy. He worked with the City of Dickson for some 40 years and started coaching baseball and umpiring in his middle teens and was umpiring just a day before he suddenly died. Brent was a legend in the sports world in our community and surrounding areas. It has been speculated that Brent had the greatest number of ejections in the baseball parks and other sporting events in our area. He was NOT going to take any lip off any coach, player, parent, grandparent or fan. Brent was quick to be offended and could easily get fired up or enraged to the point of spitting many four-letter words, which provided much entertainment to the people around him.
Brent gave lots of his time to our kids in the sporting arena. He loved the game of baseball and everything about it. He collected baseball cards, coins and aluminum cans. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan, Nascar’s Richard Petty and the late and great Elvis Presley.
Brent loved a good cigar and a FREE beer. Ever since graduation from Dickson County High School in 1985, he had gone on some 28 high school graduation trips to Panama City Beach, Florida.
Brent is survived by his sister, Sherry Sullivan and her husband Jason, his brother, Darryl Lee, his four nephews, who he adored, Austin Lee, Evan Lee, Luke Lee and Riley Garrett.
Even though Brent thought that people did not like him, he leaves a world of friends, coworkers, baseball and other sports associates and friends.

I’m so saddened by this news. I grew up in Charlotte & Brent was a year ahead of me. He was always a friend whom I could count on. Many days of laughter, lots of Jolly Ranchers, lots of fun memories! I used to run into him at the market in the mornings when I worked. Always a smile!
Enjoyed every moment I got to spend with Brent whether we were coaching together or giving him a hard time for fun when he was umpiring. He gave so much to the youth of Dickson County and will greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers to the family.
Brent was always such a wonderful guy. My condolences to his family and close friends. Prayers for comfort and peace during this difficult time.

A great friend I will never forget we grew up together and been friends close to 56 years. We have had some great trips to races together and endless nights cruising the plaza. Will always remember you and your famous catch phrase I’m Brent Lee from Tennessee. Will miss you Crash Lee.
I met Brent 3 years while umpiring a tournament in Clarksville. He was very laid back and a gentleman on and off the field. I know his presence will be missed.
Yes, he always acted tough but he was always quick to stop and speak to me. And man, could he speak! I’ll miss his bantering and his sarcasm, something we both enjoyed. He will be missed by many as he always made a lasting impression and touch the lives of countless sports fans.

Lost a wonderful man.
Met Brent when he was a Sophomore at Dickson County High School and such a hard worker. I asked him if he would be interested in being the manager for the Dickson County Boys Basketball team.
He took the offer and was our manager for the next three years. Brent was such a hard worker and needed to be told, only, once to do a job and do it right. He was as good of basketball manager as Dickson County had in my 22 years as head coach. He earned respect from all who were around him.
We spent 3 wonderful years together and kept in touch the 41 years.
Brent Lee!! My Brother ,friend!! This is really a tough one .You always had the biggest heart,and was always true to everyone you came across..There are so many memories from growing up to getting older that I could tell.You always made everyone feel so welcomed no matter ,who they was.You will be missed Big brother by family and friends.This is really a hard 1 for me your family cared the world for you and mines did too.Love you brother Rest In Heaven ,call a bunch of strikes up there in the pearly gates brother..Let Elvis play loud we will always remember the good times no more worries big guy!!
