Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Shepherd, age 81, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 2:28 PM CST at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital West.

She served the Lord Jesus Christ with a gentle grace, a humble heart, and a feisty disposition. She reflected His love and dignity to the very end. Her life was a beautiful testament to walking in fellowship with Jesus, and her heart was always tethered straight to the Lord. She lived her life anchored by the deep assurance of God’s promises, never walking in fear, but always in His Strength and Peace.

2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

Proverbs 31:25 & 28 “Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come… Her children arise up, and call her blessed.”

James 5:16 “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

Frances Shepherd was born October 23, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Hayden and Margie Lundy. She was preceded into glory by her beloved husband of fifty years, Carlow Britt Shepherd, and her brother, Charles Lundy.

Frances lived a beautifully full life centered around her home, her faith, and her family. She was a proud and devoted momma who raised her boys with a strong foundation in the Lord, packing her home with laughter, love, and a wonderful sense of fun.

Her life and marriage were deeply marked by a powerful prophecy once given to her husband, Carl, regarding the destiny and divine provision of their family, rooted in Leviticus 25:19-23 – and beautifully fulfilled in Ephesians 2:19-22:

“And the land shall yield her fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety. And if ye shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase: Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for three years. And ye shall sow the eighth year, and eat yet of old fruit until the ninth year; until her fruits come in ye shall eat of the old store. The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me.”

Frances lived to see her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren born into this divine promise, witnessing the rich, generational “increase” of safety and spiritual abundance. Above all else, Frances was a woman of unceasing, fierce prayer. As her family loudly declares: “Constantly, Aggressively, Passionately, Hopefully, Patiently, In Happiness, in Sorrow, We can all say that Frances ‘the Prayer Warrior’ PRAYS! She goes to sleep praying, She wakes praying! I covet it, I need it!, and I am grateful for it! She taught us to Love Jesus, She sowed the greatest gift that could ever be sown by pointing us to the Cross! Remember young ones, the covering she has laid down in prayer, return what was labored for you and pray and seek the Lord! Mom, you raised a big family! I LOVE YOU, MOM!”

Whether she was coordinating family gatherings, checking in on her grandbabies, or interceding late into the night, her radiant spirit always made everyone feel cherished. Having lived with the sound mind promised by her Savior, she truly finished her years gracefully, watching her family dwell safely in the goodness of God.

She is survived by her three sons and their families:

Shawn and Sherry Shepherd; their children: Matheu Eugene Shepherd (and daughters Jocelynn Geneva Mae Hanson, Julianne Marie Shepherd, Jeaneva Gabriella Shepherd), Joab Tobias Shepherd and wife Rachel Shepherd, Gabryel Shepherd Fields and husband Austin Fields (and daughters Lilia Claire Fields, Amelia “Mia” Evolette Fields, and Elaina Raine Fields), and Daniel Zechariah Shepherd and fiancé Bev Shepherd.
