Funeral services will be Tuesday April 28, 2026 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Baggett and Tom Heflin officiating. Place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Monday April 27th from 4 to 8 PM and on Tuesday from 12 PM until time of service. Those desiring memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
Rex Wayne Heflin, age 81 of Dickson, TN passed away Friday April 24, 2026. Born in Montgomery County on September 6, 1944 he was the son of the late Rex and Gladys Melton Heflin and was preceded in death by his brothers, Mike and David Heflin. Wayne was a graduate of Montgomery Central High School. He was a retired deputy with the Dickson County Sheriffs Office. Wayne loved to fish and hunt with his son and grandson and being in nature. He took up golf late in life and achieved two hole in ones at Montgomery Bell State Park Golf Course. Wayne was a member of the Walnut St. Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Heflin of Dickson, TN; children, Shannon Heflin (Amanda) of Pleasant View, TN, Shonda Stivers of North Dakota; step-son, John Michael (Holly) of Bellevue, TN; brother, Tom Heflin of Nashville, TN; sister, Bonnie Yarbrough (Dennis) of Clarksville, TN; 7 grandchildren, Olivia Heflin, Carter Heflin, Sydney Stivers, Christian Stivers, Katelynn Stivers, Adeen Michael, Josephine Michael; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wayne was always a joy to be around! Serving him on at the Front porch always led to a laugh. He will be missed. Sending much love to Carol and his family.

I’m so sorry about Wayne. He was an acquaintance when our sons played baseball in Charlotte. He was a great coach and a fun person. God bless the family for prayers and support from above.
