Funeral services will be Sunday June 28, 2026 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Tommy Marvin officiating. Place of rest will be in the Jackson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday June 28th from 11 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Jackson Chapel Cemetery or Dickson County Humane Society.

Ruby Nell Spann, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home on June 25, 2026. She was born on December 2, 1942, in Tunica, MS to the late Robert and Lena Burchfield.

Ruby was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend whose kindness and nurturing spirit touched the lives of many. She found great joy in cooking delicious meals, baking sweet treats for family and friends, and caring for children. Her home was always a place of warmth, love, and welcome.

She is survived by her daughters, Roxanna Hagewood and her husband, Kenny Hagewood, and Celena Watson and her husband, Chris Watson; her sons, Stephen Spann and Buck Spann and his wife, Jennifer Spann; her grandchildren, Kane, Courtney, Matt, Gavin, Christie, Bailey, and Lane; many great-grandchildren; her brother, Lee Burchfield; and Special Nephews Grant and Hunter.

Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Spann; her parents, Robert and Lena Burchfield; and her sisters, Bobbie Soleim and Patsy Early; grandson Randy Hughes.

Ruby’s legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the countless lives she touched with her love, generosity, and caring heart. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
